Mary Lynn the Buddy….

by

So, yesterday I shared a little clip of Mary Lynn responding to a reporter’s suggestion that she be the new Jack should Kiefer leave. Today, I have a little more Mary Lynn for you. It seems she’s gonna be in a new movie that you may have heard of by now. It’s called Julie and Julia. For anyone who hasn’t seen anything about it yet, it’s based on a true story. A young woman spent a year cooking all the recipes from Julia Child’s cookbook and wrote about her experience on a blog, which later became a book. The film goes back and forth between Julie’s (Amy Adams) experiment and Julia’s (Meryl Streep) time in France.

Mary Lynn plays Julie’s best friend in the movie, named Helen according to the wikipedia page for the movie. Not sure how big a part it is, but it sounds pretty decent, don’t you think? I’m actually kinda tempted to check this one out and see how it is. Or maybe I’ll wait for the DVD so I can skip the Julia parts… the voice kinda grates on me a little. Here’s a little promo for the movie, which opens on August 7th, thanks to clevvermovies:

After watching this it does look kind of entertaining… who else agrees with me? Are you going to see it or do you think anyone who does is crazy? Share your thoughts and let’s chat about it! I guess that’s about it for this time. Take care and I’ll see y’all again tomorrow!

CTU After Jack….

by

So, you all know it’ll happen one day, right? Jack Bauer can’t keeping beating the odds forever and will suffer the same fate as Moss, Miles and others over the years. Kiefer himself has said ever since day one that the show could and would go on without him if that’s what the writers decided on.

This has actually come up a couple of times recently. Especially since it was hinted that the show might just go on in some form after the eighth season ends. Now, Mary Lynn has been asked for her two cents on the whole thing. Check out this brief clip of her at a movie premiere:

In case you couldn’t load it, the interviewer asks her about this issue and Mary Lynn says that she believes that Kiefer truly believes the show can go out without him, but she doesn’t seem to be as sure of the idea. She’s then asked about the possibility of her maybe taking over the job one day. You don’t see her complete response in the clip, but let’s just say she doesn’t seem to sure of that one either. What do ya know? Chloe really is a Jack’s girl! Seriously, though… I think a Chloe and Renee combo would be the most logical choice at this point if Kiefer were to leave the show. After all, who else but Chloe has been with the series longer than Jack? And Renee definitely proved last season she can hold her own. What do you all think of this? Would you be open to a Chloe-centric series? Do you think she can fill the Bauer shoes as a lead? Comment and let me know! Take care and I’ll see y’all tomorrow!

Comic Con Stuff…. (Spoilers)

by

Hey everyone!! As usually, I have done some digging and came up with some scoop on 24 for y’all! It’s all about Comic-Con today. I know I mentioned it before and what the schedule of shows would be. Now that it’s over, all kinds of stories are surfacing about what was said at the event by the stars and producers. Surprisingly- they didn’t say much. At least, not in terms of new info. Still, there were a couple little things and a little more detail on stuff we’d already learned about. Wanna know more? You know what to do… Read the rest of this entry »

Carlos Sings!

by

Those 24 people really seem to love their baseball. A couple days ago, I mentioned that Annie Wersching participated in a softball game. Well, I was reading some forums today and it seems that someone else has gotten into the action….

Carlos Bernard was at a Cubs game to sing the song ‟Take Me Out to the Ball Game‟. Later on, he showed up in the booth to chat with the announcers. It sounds like it was quite the interview: he talked about his kid, how his wife laughed when he was named one of the sexiest men by People and watching 24. I’ve been trying to find some audio/video on youtube, but no luck. It’s a shame as it sounds like he really had fun doing it. If anyone does find one before I do, I’d love for you to let me know it’s up.

While they reportedly did talk a little 24, it was in more general terms so no new spoilage has been leaked. Considering he’s only one of several cast members who have mentioned you keep your mouth shut to keep from getting killed off, I’d say the chances of us getting any good dirt from anyone other than set spies are pretty much nil. They don’t keep all the spoilage from getting released, but they are trying. Gotta give them credit for that- keep the lid on things is hard these days.

Well, I guess that’s about it for today. I may not have found the baseball stuff, but I do have a Carlos video for you before I leave. It’s an interview for the video game and it was posted by powergamer01:

Enjoy and see ya tomorrow!

I’m ba-ack…..

by

Hey again!! Sorry for the absence, guys. Everything should be good now, though. I’ve got my home computer up and running again. It was a lot easier and faster to do than I thought it would be (once I managed to get someone over here, that is…).

I did manage to be a little productive, blog-wise though. I’d been planning to borrow some copies of older seasons of 24 so I could write up some posts about the episodes, DVDs, etc. Well, having to head over to the library anyway gave me my chance and I am now making my way through some of season 2. More about that another time, though. Today, I wanna share a little poll I found about the show.

According to the SiFy Movies website, a poll was done by lovefilm.com to name the most addictive series of all time. I’ll give you one guess as to what series made it to the top spot. Yes, that’s right: 24. Not too bad, huh? I can’t say I disagree. The show does manage to pull you in and keep you watching, no matter what you might think of some of the more out-there aspects of it. Wanna find out who else made the list and what percent of the vote 24 got? Head on over here for the details.

Well, I guess that’s about it for today. I’m off to catch up on a couple more blogs and then watch some more 24. Take care and keep checking back over the weekend for more posts! I leave you with a video posted by powergamer01. It’s of Elisha talking about the 24 game:

Computers are Evil!

Hey, everyone. Just wanted to post you a message to let you know it might be a few days before I can post. My computer crashed this morning, so I have no internet access at home. I’m at the library now and will try and post from here when I can until it’s fixed. Take care everyone and have a good night!!

Good News…

by

Hello, everyone!!! Hope everyone’s doing good and you’re ready for some more good news about 24 and Kiefer. Remember awhile back when I wrote that he and the designer he headbutted were playing nice and it was probably gonna be resolved quickly? Well, it was.

Reports came out today saying that the authorities in Manhattan believe that this wasn’t anything serious enough to warrant charging him with anything (I’ll bet the little truce between the two people involved had a lot to do with that…). As an added bonus, officials in LA have decided they’re not going to charge Kiefer with any probation violations over the incident. I guess this means a happy ending for everyone involved. Given the outcome of the actor’s negotiations and the fact the writers and directors won’t be due for another contract for a while yet, we should have smooth sailing from here in out and get 24 as scheduled in January. I, for one, am glad to hear that one. I don’t know if I’d like to wait around another year and a half for new episodes. How about you guys?

So what does everyone think of all this? Do you think that there should’ve been some actual consequences for Kiefer over the headbutting incident? Are you happy about the outcome of the whole thing? Be sure to comment and let me know so we can chat about it. I guess that’s about it for now. I’ll see y’all again tomorrow. Take care and let the countdown to January begin….

I leave you with a little clip of Kiefer at the Lifetime Achievement Ceremony for Micheal Douglas, posted by bbkiefer. Enojoy!

Annie’s an All-Star….

by

Hey, everyone!! Sorry I’m so late in getting a post done. You know how crazy life can get sometimes. I promise to make up for the post I missed on Friday this week. For now? Let’s talk 24 huh? I wanna start the week off by talking about one of the newer cast members on the show: Annie Wersching.

She managed to get a little time off from filming 24 to take part in a special event: The Taco Bell All Star Legends and Celebrity Softball Game. Yes, I know- that’s a mouth full! I got tired just typing that name. Anyway… it’s an annual event that started back in 2001 and it’s one of many events that celebrate the Home Run Derby. Celebrities and Former MLB players compete in a shortened game of softball in the city where the Derby is going to be held. This year, the event was held on July 12th at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. Annie was part of the National League, led by Mike Greenberg. Looks like they won, too. Gymnast Shawn Johnson, Rapper Nelly and others also participated in the game. Congrats to Annie and the rest of the team.

Check out this video, posted by athooks. It’s an interview with Annie before the game. The audio isn’t the greatest, but it’s still a good interview. She looks like she was having a great time. Well, I guess that’s about it for now. Take care and I’ll see y’all with more tomorrow.

And the Nominees Are…

by

Good afternoon, everyone! How’s it going? I can think of a couple people right now who are having a really good day. Why? They’re nominated for Emmys.

Kiefer Sutherland has officially been nominated as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Special for his work on 24: Redemption. Personally, I’m a little surprised he didn’t get nominated in the series category. While he was good in Redemption, I thought he was outstanding in season 7- especially towards the end of the season when Jack was dealing with the effects of the Bio weapon and coming to terms with some of the things he’s had to do over the years in the name of protecting the country. Kiefer’s competition is Kevin Kline in Cyrano de Bergerac, Brendan Gleeson in Into the Storm, Sir Ian McKellen for King Lear, Kevin Bacon in Taking Chance and Kenneth Branagh in Wallander: One Step Behind.

Another nominee? Cherry Jones. She’s nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Good for her! If it wasn’t for Cherry, I don’t know that I would’ve like Alison Taylor half as much as I did. Cherry will be competing against Rose Byrne in Damages, Hope Davis in In Treatment, Chandra Wilson and Sandra Oh of Grey’s Anatomy and Diane Wiest for In Treatment. That’s some pretty good competition for both… I’m wishing them both good luck on Emmy night. Here’s the complete list of nominees for all categories…

The one big disappointment, I think, is the snubbing of Annie. She really nailed everything the writers threw at her last year. Let’s hope other awards shows will recognize her. So what do you all think? Do you agree with the nominations? Anyone else you would have included instead? Post your thoughts below! I leave y’all with a little more of the Emmy’s thanks to CBS’s youtube page:

The Bad Guys Return….

by

Hello again! I just now came across some news I thought I’d share with y’all, in case you were wondering where some old 24 cast members are now. One of them is pretty recent to the show, and other goes back a ways….

There’s a new TV series about to premiere on ABC called Defying Gravity. It’s described as a ‘space thriller’ about a group of astronauts on a mysterious 6-year mission and stars Laura Harris. Remember that name? If you’re a long time viewer of 24, you should. She played Marie Warner, sister of Kate Warner back in season 2. For those of you who haven’t seen that season, she ended up working with the terrorists after being brainwashed during a trip to the Middle East. She manages to get the finger pointed at both her father and fiancee before CTU finally catches on to her. Laura will play the ship’s geologist. For those who need a little reminding, here’s a clip of her posted by sockamojumbo from the show Dead Like Me:

The other one you’ll probably recognize in the show is Eyal Podell. He was Ryan Burnett, chief of staff to Senator Mayer and a terrorist, in season 7. I think you all remember what happened to him. He’ll be a psychiatrist and medical officer on the new series. If you wanna learn a little bit more about the show and the characters, check out the press release, posted on The Futon Critic’s website. It sounds like a pretty interesting series. I think I might be giving this one a try. What do you all think? Comment and let me know! Take care and I’ll see y’all again tomorrow.

The Worst Moments…

by

You know that blogs and magazines love to do best and worst lists, right? Lord knows I’ve done my fair share of them. It’s always cool, though, to see someone else’s and maybe even get a new perspective on your favorite shows.

While browsing the net to see what was up in the 24-world, I came across a 24-related list from ign’s site. They wrote about some of Jack’s worst days. Of course, I got to see all these moments for myself while watching the show, but reading about all these at once? Let’s just say I hope Jack Bauer has a good therapist. He clearly needs one! Makes you wonder what else they can possibly throw at the character.

There’s, of course, Teri’s death on the list. They also have the events of last season listed as well (particularly the death of Bill and Jack getting infected). If you want to see the whole list, head on over here.

Personally, I think they did a great job with this. I can’t really think of a thing I’d change on it. How about you guys? Is there anything on this list that you disagree with? Anything you think should have been on there instead? Comment and let me know. Before I head out for the night, I wanna share this video I found on youtube. It’s a slide show of season 5 by bauer094:

Well, that’s all for now. Take care and I’ll see y’all tomorrow with more.

24 Actor relocates to Wysteria Lane…

by

Hello again!! I’m back and I’ve got some good news for those of you who liked a certain character on 24 last season. If you’ve read my Desperate Housewives blog, you know that the show is casting two men (one older, one younger) to play the family of Drea DeMatteo’s character. Well, the parts have been cast and, once again, these two shows have something in common: Jeffrey Nordling.

That’s right- Larry Moss is coming back to TV. As you can guess, he’ll be playing the husband of Drea’s character. (spoiler alert for housewives…) Read the rest of this entry »

Comic Con

by

Hey, everyone!! So, how many of you all know and love comic con? Anyone ever been to one? I haven’t, but I’m wishing I could this time. I tell you why in a minute. First? A little background for anyone who hasn’t really followed it at all.

Comic Con started back in 1970 as a small festival that now has several other related events. It features comics (of course), review sessions, costume contests and more. And it’s not just about comic books. They have all the best genre shows, cartoons and movies there as well. This year, 24 is among the group of shows being featured. There’s going to be a 45-minute panel on the show where you’ll get to here some stuff about the new season from Jack Bauer himself, Kiefer Sutherland. It’s going to be held on Friday the 24th at 2:15 PM. If you’re going, please do report back all the details. I know you’d have a lot of grateful 24 fans thanking you for it.

Other shows being included are Farscape, Battlestar Galactica, Bones and The Fairly Odd Parents. If I may go off-topic for a second, The Fairly Oddparents is another one I’d love to be able to go to the show for. It’s about a ten-year-old boy with absent-minded parents and an evil (seriously!) babysitter who is given fairy godparents to help him out and make him happy. It reminds me a bit of Animaniacs and The Flintstones. You know… those cartoons that are written with adults in mind as well as kids. Before I head out, I wanna link you to the page where I found the info on the 24 panel- this will give you a full rundown on all the shows featured and when the panels for them are. Enjoy! I leave you with a clip of Kiefer at last year’s event thanks to teamwwk where Sutherland explains and demonstrates his most famous catchphrase…

New Sets…

by

Hello, again! How’s it going? Before I head out to work in a little bit, I wanted to come by and share this article I found about the new season of 24. It’s mildly spoilery if you’re sensitive about casting and stuff like that. It also discusses sets and mentions specific places action will be taking place in. If that’s fine with you, follow me to the cut… Read the rest of this entry »

Emmy Nominations Wish List…

by

I may have mentioned the Emmys on my other blog, but I don’t believe I have here. Still, I’m sure I’ll have plenty of reason to talk about them on here soon enough. I mean, between Redemption and who well everyone did in Season 7, how can they not get a nomination? It looks like the LA Times agrees with me. They just released an article detailing who they think are the front runners to score an Emmy nomination this year as an outstanding actor in a TV Movie/Miniseries.

The last name on their front runner list is Kiefer Sutherland. While they think that someone else will end up winning (they pointed out many of the winners of the category have played real-life people), they do think his name alone is enough to get him on the list. Especially given he’s already won an Emmy in 2006 as outstanding actor in a TV series. If you’ve followed awards shows at all, you know they love to reward some of the same people over and over again.

If I were picking nominees, I would also add Annie to the list as outstanding actress in a series. I was surprised by how much I ended up liking her in the role, considering I don’t like a lot of the soap actors. I’d also give mentions to Cherry, Bob and James for their roles this year. As for writing…. I have to go with the two episode finale as one of the best of the year. So what do you guys think? Who would you nominate if you had the chance? Comment and let me know! Take care! I leave you all with a clip from the 2006 ceremony posted by toxickk924:
