24 Character Countdown (Episode 23)

by

Tom Lennox (95)
-Offered to look the other way if Karen decided to help Jack behind the VP’s back (+5)
-Agreed with Karen when she said that Jack has been the most right today (+5)
-Vouched for Karen and Bill and wanted the VP to let them resign peacefully (+10)

Net Gain/Loss: +20
Current Total: 115

Bill Buchanan (166)
-Helped Karen and Jack (+5)
-Even did a little recapping (+3)
-Best recapping was when he recapped that whole agent’s career, and how he had trained him (+5)

Net Gain/Loss: +13
Current Total: 179

Nadia Yassir (117)
-After everything that’s happened today she’s still trying to follow stupid orders (-5)
-Questioned Karen when she asked about Jack (-5)
-Didn’t smack Marylin Bauer who was acting like a loon (-6)
-Found out from Milo’s brother that Milo saved her because he loved her. Awwwww…(+4)

Net Gain/Loss: -12
Current Total: 105

Jack Bauer (618)
-Got put back into CTU custody (-3)
-Pistol whips people like it’s nothing. (Have you ever noticed that TV/Movie characters always know the exact amount of pressure and where to hit someone to knock them cold for the exact period of time they need to do whatever they need to do) (+5)

Net Gain/Loss: +2
Current Total: 620

Chloe O’Brian (219)
-Told Jack about the trade Phillip Bauer was doing for Josh (+3)
-Fainted from her extreme “Pale-ness (-5)

Net Gain/Loss: -2
Current Total: 217

Morris O’Brian (106)
-Is apparently the MOST observant person in the entire world. He was able to point out about Chloe, that quote, “You look a little pale. How’d he do that? She always looks pale. ALWAYS! Wow, Morris great eyes for detail (+8)

Net Gain/Loss: +8
Current Total: 114

Vice President Powers Boothe (-8)
-Had to apologize, with his tail between his legs, to the Russian President (-5)
-Came to a harsh realization that he has possibly been the worst President since Richard Nixon (-8)

Karen Hayes (112)

-Got the information on where Jack was from Nadia by bossing her around, that was great (+6)
-Ah, the jig is up. She got arrested (-6)

Net Gain/Loss:
+18
Current Total: 130

-Just some of the worst acting I’ve ever seen. It was just bad this episode with Doyle (-5)
-Was willing to take a chance to get the boy back if he could (+8)
-Had a case blow up in his face. I think it’s time to learn Braille Doyle (-9)

Net Gain/Loss: -6
Current Total: 94

LEADERBOARD:
Jack Bauer—620
Chloe O’Brian—217
Bill Buchanan—161
Karen Hayes—130
Tom Lennox—115
Morris O’Brian—114
Nadia Yassir—105
Rick “Mikey Doyle Schroder—94
Charles Logan—Good thing he made his peace with God, because he’s dead, dead, dead!
President Wayne Palmer—72
Milo—0
Sandra Palmer—(-7)
Vice President Powers Boothe—(-21)

Special Awards:

Low Flying Award: Goes to the pilot of the CTU helicopter at the beginning. He was like skimming the water that was pretty dang cool.

Worst Locating Devices Ever Award: Goes to CTU. Along with their so-called “perimeters, CTU tracking devices, never ever work. They are so easily disabled, what’s even the point?

Worst Music Choice Award: Goes to whoever picked the “Harry Potter type music when they showed the oil rig. That was really cheesy I thought.

Pointless Plot Award #1: Goes to the Milo brother subplot that served nothing more than to take up about five minutes.

  1. S.a.m. Says:

I thought maybe Milo’s brother had poisoned Chloe or something because of that time she went to the movies with Milo but no sparks flew. Maybe Chloe tried to take advantage of Milo on that date, and that was Milo’s brother’s way of getting revenge. ……that should’ve happened, anyway. It would’ve been a much better story line than what REALLY happened to Chloe…

  2. Ken Says:

The “Killing of a 24 staple” award: Mike Doyle for his pathetically delivered “Dammit”. If there is one reason the show doesn’t work without Kiefer, it’s his sublime “DAMMIT!!”s.

  3. Gdog Says:

Best line ever: “I think it’s time to learn Braille Doyle (-9)” LOL!! :)

  4. Mer! Says:

What about more stuff about Jack? Sticking a gun in Heller’s face (definitely deserved), letting Audrey go, not killing Papa Bauer, great speech to Audrey and good decision to leave her be.

Oh, and not jumping off the cliff. ;o)

I’m gonna miss this character countdowns until January! Thanks Aaron! Let the season 7 speculation begin!!

  5. Aaron Says:

Mer! this is only for Episode 23. I still have yet to do the last episode. It was 2 hours.

  6. Willy Says:

Hey Mer! This is the Episode 23 countdown. You’re thinking about Episode 24.

@Aaron: CTU Tracking devices easily disabled? Tell it to Gredenko!

    /w

  7. Aaron Says:

HA ha Willy. Too bad Gredenko didn’t have one of those nifty laser pen de-activaters.

  8. Willy Says:

Aaron, I just finished the finale (iTunes subscription is a day behind.). Was there a sneak peak of next season?

    /w

  9. Aaron Says:

    Willy,
No sneak peak, probably because they haven’t yet filmed any of it.

It was just the deep voice guy saying “Next season promises to be the best season yet.”

  10. Carlos Says:

“Worst President since Richard Nixon”? How about worst President since Charles Logan? That guy screwed over his own country.

Anyone who’s local to NY knows that the local Fox news (besides having an unreal obsession with tying every single news story to 24) has been pimping 24-in-NY since episode 2.

  11. Dr. Sam Beckett Says:

    Ah yes, Worst President since…Clinton.

I do believe Logan and Buchanan will team up like two presidents singing songs and stuff.

Carlos, Fox is Fox, they all promote their own shows, Here in Mo. they pimp American Idol..GAG.

    And what about Chloe’s Baby…Is it Morris’s

    I thought I saw a glimmer in Nadia’s eyes saying something like hey Milo’s brother… You’re hot!
I’ll be back to read the ep.24.
    Great work Aaron,

  12. Jose Alvear Says:

What are we gonna do without 24?????

    I can’t wait until January 2008!

  13. Mer! Says:

Oh, oops Aaron!! How silly of me… I can’t believe I tripped up on that. My mistake! :o)

  14. Almeidaisgod Says:

I can’t wait until ‘08 for 24. OMG. What am i supposed to rave about? And What happened to Logan? And what about Mandy? And I thought some amazing character was gonna show up (ahem Tony ahem cough cough)??

  15. Ebonvoice Says:

I’m looking for Ricky to ditch his silver spoon for the “Nick Fury” look next season as he becomes the new head of CTU, and for more of those David Caruso-style “Dammit”s whenever Jack goes against orders.

  16. S.a.m. Says:

Doyle as head of CTU with an eye patch and some bad acting and possible smoking a large cigar? Now THERE’S some good TV!!!
