24 Character Countdown (Episode 6)

by

Tom Lennox (86)
-Going with the lesser known Lowe brother to be his henchman in disguise (+8)
-Gave us all an amazingly interesting history lesson on the Musket and it’s single shot capabilities (-9)
-Would rather wipe dog crap off his shoes with the Constitution, rather than follow it (-15)
-Blackmailed Karen Hayes into resigning (-10)
-Got Karen to resign (-10)
-Really showed his true slimeball-self in this episode (-10)
-Admitted to Karen that he is a “son of a bitch and seems to be pretty dang proud of it (+15)

Net Gain/Loss: -31
Current Total: 55

President Wayne Palmer (23)
-Continuing his rousing speech to the American people (+6)
-Still doesn’t realize that Tom is a slimeball and not merely “another point of view (-10)

Net Gain/Loss: -4
Current Total: 19

Bill Buchanan (118)
-Used that nice and calming Bill Buchanan tone to calm Nadia down over the racial profiling issue. He’d make a wonderful Grandpa (+9)
-Lied to Milo about Nadia (-4)

Net Gain/Loss: +5
Current Total: 123

Nadia Yassir (136)
-For some reason thought that lying about the racial profiling issue was what she had to do. I just didn’t understand all the secretiveness behind that (-6)
-Is a registered Republican (-4)

Net Gain/Loss: -10
Current Total: 126

Jack Bauer (311)
-Didn’t believe Graem even after the bag torture (+5)
-In his most forceful, Jack Bauer death-voice, told Graem he was indeed going to leave his family and go with him. “Oh, yes you are (+9)
-Told Graem not to talk about “loyalty. Man there’s some deep seeded hate between those two (+5)
-Handcuffed Graem to a bookcase because he could (+6)
-Let someone get the drop on him so easily and pistol whip him (-10)
-Attacked Graem after he mentioned Teri (+5)
-Actually listened to his Father and let Graem get freed from the bookcase (-10)

Net Gain/Loss: +10
Current Total: 321

Milo (93)
-Lied for no reason for Nadia. Usually the lying that happens in CTU has a point, but this really didn’t (-7)
-Logged in Nadia. (+5) NOTE: I’m going to give him plus points now, but if Nadia turns out to be a mole then Milo will be headed to the Character Countdown gallows.

Net Gain/Loss: -2
Current Total: 91

Sandra Palmer: (-25)
-Stated the obvious about being able to sneak in a cell phone, and as much as I hate to say it was COMPLETELY right (+8)

Net Gain/Loss
: +8
Current Total: -17

Karen Hayes: (90)
-Threatened to “get in the ring with Tom (+7)
-Never did (-10)
-Finally announced what we have all thought. Tom Lennox has “paranoid delusions (+9)
-Asked Tom “what are you smoking? (+10)
-Didn’t tell the President about the blackmail (-10)
-Told President Wayne that he “knows what to do. When if anyone who watched that could really tell that the underlying theme to her speech was not to trust a word that Tom says (+12)

Net Gain/Loss: +18
Current Total: 108

LEADERBOARD:
Jack Bauer—321
Nadia Yassir—126
Chloe O’Brian—125
Bill Buchanan—123
Karen Hayes—108
Morris O’Brian—103
Tom Lennox—55
President Wayne Palmer—19
Sandra Palmer—(-17)

Notes: Chloe and Morris don’t appear on this one because they didn’t really do anything out of the ordinary of technical speak.

Me giving (-4) to Nadia because she’s a registered Republican is in no way me trying to pick a fight with anyone. Registering for any party is pretty ridiculous anyway in my opinion. I would’ve gave her the same if she were registered Democrat.

Other Notable Awards:

Worst Detention Facility Award: Goes to the FBI for setting up a detention facility that requires cavity searches upon entry, but does not require the search of everyone’s pockets for pesky cell phones. Also, for not having guards on the inside of the complex, letting possible terrorists congregate together to kick the crap out of Walid.

The Guy I Want to Punch in the Face Most Award: Goes to Graem. It was a hard choice between Tom and Graem, but Graem won out because that guy just has no morals whatsoever. He’s crying one minute because there’s a bag on his head and the next minute he’s Mr. Terrorist Mastermind.

Best New Character Award: Goes to Chad Lowe’s character because he’s not Rob Lowe.

EDIT: I totally forgot to put these two awards in.
Grand Master Pickpocket Award: Goes to Walid. I bet you didn’t know that it’s a requirement to be a Grand Master Pickpocketer before you can become the President of the IAA.

Father of the Year Award: Goes to anyone but Jack Bauer’s Father.

  1. Loren Says:

Because he’s not Rob Lowe? haha! What have you got against the poor guy? This Chad Lowe plays a pretty skeezy character very well. He’s got ‘class-climber’ written all over him.

  2. Little Nicky Says:

    How about Jack’s dad?
+5 points for being James Cromwell
-10 for listening to his idiot wretch of a son Graham
-20 for not being Donald Sutherland

  3. Lucas Says:

Does Scott’s qualify for the Father of the Year Award?

  4. steve Says:

You forgot Nadia’s +10 for being hot again - even hotter (under the collar) this week after being racially profiled. I’m taking Milo’s “registered replublican” comment as a joke - I refuse to believe it.

  5. Jo Says:

There is a small display error in Bill Buchanan, we should read : Net Gain/Loss: +5. Instead of Net Gain/Loss: -5. (+9-4). Now the father of the year award is totaly insane. I really like your countdown dude, keep great job;)

  6. Paul-Anton Says:

haven’t you noticed that jack calls his brother a “son of a bitch”? his BROTHER? i couldnt stop laughing!
i thought you’d give hime like -15 for that ;)

  7. Aaron Says:

    Jo,
Thanks for the heads up. About the typo.

    Paul,
Nice spot, that is funny if you think about it. Sorry I missed it.

    Aaron.

  8. Anna Says:

I liked the comment about the FBI’s detention center. It seems to be that one of the main, yet probably subconscious purposes of 24 is to make every other government agency look like incompetent nimkapoops while CTU pulls ahead as the country’s only defense against the forces of evil. I like it, I like it.
    Nice observation Aaron.

  9. Willy Says:

How about the “Must have missed the memo” award for the guard who says, “I’m sorry, Ma’am, I can’t let you in there…” and is just standing there like a dope, even after the head FBI dude says, “We’re taking Walid out… NOW!” What, was he in the bathroom when that message went out?

  10. Martin Says:

What if Milo is the mole, and giving nadia his login, later will create an alibi for him (or at least cast doubt over weather it was him or her who did wrong) - just a thought

  11. Blake Says:

Registering with a party isn’t ridiculous; it lets you vote in their primary. You can request a ballot for that party if you aren’t registered, but it doesn’t have all the offices available.

  12. pinysed Says:

You said, and down at her clit hood. - canadian prescriptions adipex and thank her prominent clit.
