24 Episode 10–3:00p.m.-4:00p.m.
3:00pm–4:00pm
I really liked tonight’s episode, except for a few things, that I’ll talk about at the end.
Morris’ backstory of being an alcoholic is going to play in later in the season, and I’m really looking forward to that. I mean, what wouldn’t make someone get back on the wagon like arming a bunch of nuclear bombs for a terrorist? (Is it on the wagon or off the wagon, like Seinfeld, I’m not sure?)
Jack was able to find Milo and Marylin just in the nick of time, perfect Jack Bauer style. He also added two more people to his kill count. Throwing Marylin up against the wall, choking her (much like what he did to Audrey) was a nice touch. But, I don’t know why he was so bent out of shape about his team being killed. It seems like CTU has an endless supply of them.
One of the huge surprises of this episode, at least for me, was the fact that Tom had been playing Reed the whole time. I thought Tom was all for assassinating President Wayne. I have renewed faith in him now. Finally, he came to his senses. Although, he was probably doing it for selfish means, meaning that if he exposed an assassination plot then he’d be a hero I still liked what he did. Except then he got smacked in the face with a Mag Lite and, man that’s gotta hurt.
I was very glad that Jack finally found out that his Dad was behind everything. Now we can put that to rest. Everyone knows how crazy Farmer Hoggett actually is, and we don’t have to keep yelling at our TV screens, “Are you crazy! He’s the bad guy!
Now as I mentioned before there were some things that I didn’t like. Couldn’t Jack at least have surrounded the building his Father was in, after he got the call from him and saw him on the roof? One call to CTU and that building could’ve been surrounded, with no escape. Speaking of escape, how does an old man run that fast? That speech Jack gave about turning his back on the family couldn’t have been more than 2-3 minutes. You’re telling me that his Dad would have enough time to run out of that room, without Jack hearing him, and then have time to set the phone on the ledge, and book it down the stairs to freedom? Yeah I didn’t buy that.
Other than that, I thought this was one of the better episodes. Like I said I’m glad their exploring a bit more of Morris’ character because I really like him.
Also, what does everyone think about the return of Charles Logan? Looking all Grizzly Adams-like. I wonder what is going to happen with that. Does he actually know something? Or is this all a ploy to get some sort of freedom? Of course we don’t know why he’s not rotting away in some prison, or why he hasn’t been hanged for treason, but I guess we’ll all find that out next week.

I was very surprised that Logan is back, I hope he gets killed because he is an asshole. Anyways, I thought this episode was good, but were we supposed to assume that Jacks dad jumped off the building or run away?

lol ^^
I thought it was an average episode up until the last 5 seconds, that really put a twist in the whole thing. The 24 directors are too good at that.

I’m guessing that Logan was never charged because it would have caused a major national crisis, especially coming on the heels of David Palmer’s assassination. I believe they even made reference to that concern last year. The powers that be probably cut a deal with him in which he had to resign and disappear from public life in exchange for escaping charges.

I had to resist posting last night as soon as I saw the episode, considering the fact that those on the west coast probably hadn’t seen it yet…heh
There were a couple parts of the episode that made me laugh out loud, like Jack telling Marilyn how to use the gun (just point and shoot…haha) and the fact that Morris left his Red Bull on the counter at the convenience store.
From now on, any time I call the 24 Nextel number, I’m expecting to hear Logan on the other line. I still can’t believe he’s back. Now I know that it was Charles and a few others in the White House that made it look like Martha was just completely nuts, but I want to see how she is now…is she crazier than ever…or is she even still with Charles?
I can’t wait to see more of it next week…

I thought the episode was pretty good throughout. Plenty of great 24 drama, Jack saving people in the nick of time, CTU drama with Chloe and co-workers. But in the end I was totally shocked when I saw Logan. And he looks so scary and creepy with a beard. It seems like he is in some sort of Federal holding or house arrest. It also implied that he didn’t want his freedom, but Martha back (in the previews for next week). But where did Jack’s dad go? I could see how he could of walked out of there quietly. He didn’t have to go that far. Once Jack saw that cell phone, he wasn’t gonna chase him. But will Jack chase him now, or go to Logan? Excellent twist, can’t wait for more.

I dont understand why Tom just didn’t say over the phone “There’s going to be an attempt on the President’s life.” Would have been all that would have been required…not so good for the suspense though.

Wasn’t it established earlier in the season that Logan was pardoned by Laura Palmer’s dad (last season’s Vice President). I could have sworn that bit of information was mentioned a few episodes ago. I must have just dreamt it up.

It looks from the preview that Logan is at that presidential retreat ranch that he was in last season…does he just live there now?

I Liked this episode, mainly because of the twist at the end. But it had some really classic Jack scenes. “if you were going to kill her she’d be dead already.” but i have to say that Marylin really draged this episode down. she just isn’t a very good actor for this part.

Great to see Logan making a comeback - his character is surely one of the deepest and best in the whole series - also one of the very best acted. Does anyone know who answers if you dial that 310 area code #? i haven’t bothered trying it.
Who’s Farmer Hoggett???

Steve,
James Cromwell, played Farmer Hoggett in Babe.
Also, from what I’ve read is that the number that was shown is actually a 24 hotline of sorts, but I didn’t call it myself.
Aaron.

I’ve called the number a couple times. It’s a Nextel phone. If it’s turned on and someone from the show is by it (be it an actor or someone behind the scenes), they’ll answer it and you can talk to them for a couple minutes. If nobody’s by it or it’s off (which has been the case for me each time), you get a message “Nextel phone for 24 is unavailable, please leave a message” (or something along those lines). They’ve mentioned it at least twice so far this season: Once when Wallid stole the phone in the camp and now when Jack called Logan.

In one of the tabloids I’m reading, they mentioned the return of President Logan, and said he was under house arrest. And I guess he let himself go a little bit.
The article I read also mentioned Martha and that Secret Service dude, Aaron, I think his name was. They were gonna be back too. Weird, eh?
