24 Episode 18–11:00p.m.-12:00a.m.
I think we can all agree that this episode was made for the sole fact of leading us up to the final few episodes of the season.
Even though this episode was sort of a primer for the rest of the season I still really enjoyed it; Chloe working under the radar, Jack being arrested right after he’s saved the world, and the VP still wanting the Presidency.
Let’s first talk about President Wayne. Everything looked great. He was running the country, he wasn’t whispering as much as usual, and he even got everyone out of that horribly lit bunker. Then he has to go and have a cerebral hemorrhage and ruin all of Jack’s plans.
Jack on the other hand cares quite a bit (maybe a little too much) about Audrey. But, everyone that Jack knows and loves either gets killed or leaves him and I’m guessing he doesn’t want that to happen again to Audrey. He must feel completely responsible for her capture because she was out looking for him. So, from there I can see why he needs to do what he’s doing.
One of my favorite parts of the episode was when Jack went up to the two guards who were guarding the nukes and starting yelling at them. If I were that guard I would’ve opened up the gates too.
Doyle is actually becoming a very interesting character. First he’s thanking Jack for securing the bombs. Next he’s holding a gun in Jack’s face when Jack is trying to take the “component from the nuke. I’m thinking there’s going to be a time during these last few episodes where Doyle has to make a choice of whether to save Jack’s life or to follow orders and I think he’s going to save Jack. It’s just a hunch, but everything seems to be building up to that point. Much like Chase when he had thought Jack had switched sides and joined the drug cartel.
But, now things in the White House are very different. VP Powers Boothe is back in power but Tom still has the tape of him conspiring to commit perjury. I think Tom may use the tape in some kind of power grubbing scheme later on, or keep it just in case. Whatever Tom is planning I’m sure we’ll see the results of it soon.
Overall this was a solid episode to get us ready for the home stretch. Only six episodes left and still anything can happen, and I bet it will.

I personally have had enough of VP!!!
I hope somehow Tom and Karen work together to throw this guy out!
What else is new? Jack goes dark AGAIN? But I love it. =)

Agreed.
Why do you (not you Jay, the bloggers) call him VP Powers Boothe? His name is Noah Daniels…

That scene when the VP put the letter back into his pocket…so classic. He should get the Most Sinister Act Award just for that moment.

That was so creepy (and kinda silly) when he looked from side to side then glanced down at the letter then slowly placed it back in his coat. I’m so tired of him, too. But without him, Jack’s job would be too easy. Now Jack gets to go in there and take care of things the way he wants to do it - under the radar and playing by his own rules. I just hope Chloe will still be able to give him some covert support.

I thought this episode was such a letdown from last week, though I guess they do need to get set up for the end of the season. I thin Audrey is more boring than suitcase nukes, but we’ll see where it goes.
Also, here’s an article about an actor from Stargate joining 24 for some of the last episodes this season. It has some plot hints that I won’t reveal, but read if you want. Sounds kind of interesting…

I’m very excited for the last six episodes. Last season i stoped watching right about here, and it was the wrost possible point. The last six episodes of last season were by far the best. After last nights set up, i feel that that the next six episodes are going to be the seasons best.

The part will Jack told Doyle/Scrotum Face that he had already killed one of his partners today and wouldn’t hesitate to do it again just confirmed that Jack is a BAMF. You don’t get in that guys ways. If you do, he will take you down to Chinatown.

Putting it in perspective, Curtis demise was totally unworthy. Hamri Al-Assad was worthless… perhaps Jack is thinking that his friends should come first.. and perhaps Doyle needs to learn that too. And what best teacher than Jack..

I have mixed feelings about this last episode. It bummed me out when Prez Palmer went down again, and left jeeperscreepers VP Daniels in charge. I despise him - which makes him a damn good actor
I also thought Daniels furtive right/left looks before putting his resignation letter in his pocket was cheesey. I mean, they don’t have to try to convince us he’s a creep, ya know. Oh, and did I say I’d like to bitch-slap Daniel’s aide, who we now ascertain he’s having an affair with?
I have to agree with people here who mentioned the scene where Jack yells at the 2 guards guarding the nukecases. I loved it. He knows just exactly what to say and how to say it for others to think he’s in charge and don’t question his authority. This scene reminds me of my own training in the real world ;>
Now, the love-hate relationship between Jack and Doyle is grating on my nerves. Is it even possible to flip-flop one’s loyalty that many times in one day? I don’t trust Doyle as much as I’m starting to trust Tom. I really want to like that guy, and he’s making all the *right* moves. Sure would like to see Tom and Karen bury the hatchet and go on to scheme against VP Daniels.
