24 Episode 21–2:00a.m.-3:00a.m.
There are a few certainties in life…Death, taxes, and the fact that CTU is quite possibly the biggest workers compensation nightmare ever.
I must admit I was afraid that we’d be relegated to another episode of Jack sitting in a CTU holding cell, which we were for the first half hour. Good thing the second half hour of Jack taking out half the Chinese strike team was completely worth it.
I totally didn’t see Milo biting the dust like he did. That was so sudden, I just stared at the TV not believing what I was seeing. But, it happened. Milo gave his life for Nadia, the woman he loves right after finding out that she may indeed like Mikey Doyle (quite possibly because he reads the Koran).
I did have a problem with how easy Cheng’s Strike Force was able to get into CTU. A sewer grate right into the building? I find it hard to believe a government building would have such an accessible entry into the building.
But I was right, Phillip Bauer is calling the shots. That guy is completely insane. It would seem that before this season is over Jack will kill both Cheng and his own Father.
Overall this was a lot better episode than last. I still don’t really see how the whole Season 1 plot of a Presidential aide being used for information is going anywhere that really matters. It seems kind of like a little time filler so we’re not at CTU the entire time. But, maybe it will pan out to something with more substance, but I doubt it.
Didn’t you just love the quote from Tom Lennox as he’s sitting in his incognito van down the street as he’s watching Lisa and the Russian spy? “Come on, just get him alone with that PDA.”
Well, rest in peace Milo. We all have fond memories of Jack spilling your nuts in the first season. But, there is a ray of light at this long dark tunnel of Milo’s death. We don’t have to listen and watch him be jealous every time Nadia talks to Doyle.

wahoo, 5 more kills!

It looks to me as if Jack’s father had to rebuild that chip in exchange for his grandson.
May 8th, 2007 at 6:08 am
I still think he’s Jack Bauer’s illegitimate son. Maybe Philip Bauer wants him because he’s never liked Marilyn?
May 8th, 2007 at 6:49 am
I think Philip only wants him so he can use him against Jack. To get Jack to do whatever he wants. Why else would he care about him?

Anyone notice how much Milo’s ‘tache has suddenly grown?
Oh well guess it doesn’t matter now…

I can’t believe they saved all the good stuff for the last three episodes and gave us so much boring/stupid stuff up until now. This episode was pure classic 24, which was awesome.

If Philip wanted anything to do with Jack, he would’ve said it. Obviously he wants to “groom” Josh to be like him so that whatever “business” he had built would not be left in vain. Philip didn’t kill Jack when he had the chance to, and I don’t think he’s gonna do it now. It seems more and more logical that the “surprise person” in the end of the episode may be Charles Logan, rather than Tony.

Finally, a return to the good stuff. I was getting really bored of the soap opera that 24 had become.
As for the the mystery person we think is dead but will come back? My prediction is…President David Palmer. The one, the only, the original. Crazy? Oh yeah - but if I’m right, I win big!!

RIP Milo Pressman. Not as shocking or sad as Edgar. And the 24 clock didn’t stop beeping, like it did for Edgar. Guess Milo was kind of expendable. Hope Chloe or Nadia gets a few kills.
I wonder how Nadia feels about Milo sacrificing himself when she was too much of a coward to come forward. Maybe next season Nadia will go rogue, like Jack, and head a strike team then become obsessed with revenge and dying. I can only dream.

I am actually quite upset that milo died, I liked him and thought he was a good character. I hate Nadia and would have been ok seeing her bite the dust.
As for the “surprise person” I am praying thats its Tony, the show died when he left, but I don’t see it happening. We know that it is going to be someone jack likes, obviously, because he wouldn’t get in to the car with some bonehead like charles logan.
Can’t wait for the character countdown.

My first impression on why Milo was killed was because the Terrorists wanted to decimate CTU’s leadership to gain control of the situation and to suppress their will to resist. Standard Terrorist stuff. However, on reflection, they probably killed him because he lied about being CTU head as their Intelligence told them it was Nadia Yassir. Not a nice way to go.

@ Jay: I don’t follow your logic at all. Please explain.
@ Eric: I thought about that too, but maybe they were checking the roster and saw that Bill wasn’t there (thank goodness!) and didn’t see who the second-in-command was before Milo spoke up. I think he meant to decapitate CTU, because then he checked the roster again before finding that Nadia was the ranking officer.
I would love to see Bill get 100 points on the countdown for getting fired and not being at CTU when this went down. Also maybe give Karen 5,000 points for her awesome foresight. If she had stepped down, she would have lost her job AND Bill would have died. Way to go, Karen!… wait a minute, where was Karen this episode?
Oh, and also, GO TOM GO! He’s doing great out in the field
May 8th, 2007 at 11:48 am
OMG, it’s gonna have to be Tony at the end. Or Phillip Bauer. Where’s Kim? Come on, we need some eye candy already!
May 8th, 2007 at 12:08 pm
was anyone else happy that milo died? I hated him so much.
May 8th, 2007 at 2:38 pm
Well at least we can say good stuff about Milo since he died wearing his sweet CTU shirt. Even though his whole reason for sacrificing himself was to protect Nadia’s identity, which the Chinese found out all of 5 minutes later.

I find it intriguing that Phillip only wanted Josh, and not his son, Jack, or daughter, Marilyn. Does this mean Phillip has some special relationship or fascination with Josh that the others don’t share?
May 8th, 2007 at 4:28 pm
Maybe Josh’s father has secretly placed some information Josh;s person. Or maybe Phillip himself planted some evidence or something of Josh when he had him in his possession. Who knows what Phillip wants with Josh. I would seriously love to see a Bauer family reunion someday.
May 8th, 2007 at 7:21 pm
Ken, Marilyn is his daughter-in-law, Graeme was his other son (deceased?). So I don’t think Jack’s Daddy cares much about Marilyn in any significant way. He wants to use Josh as bait to get Jack into the family business…
Season 7 - JACK BAUER: BAD-ASS CEO!
May 9th, 2007 at 5:46 am
Does anyone else see a problem with this whole episode? This isn’t a group of terrorists, it’s a military strike by the Chinese. Doesn’t this amount to an act of war? It’s one thing for Jack to covertly sneak into an embassy and kidnap someone, but to attack CTU (and in the process kill probably dozens of people) won’t bring a confrontation b/w Booth and the Chinese government? Kind of ridiculous if you ask me.
Oh, and does anyone else find it strange that Jack’s dad has any access to “codes” that would give the Chinese nearly instant and limitless access to CTU’s security system? Forget getting Milo in trouble for being responsible for Nadia’s system getting bugged a few episodes ago, who’s responsible for this hole in security?
May 9th, 2007 at 9:02 am
Maybe I have missed it in the first episode but when did Chloe color her hair. I thought it was lighter at the first of the season. Hope not as that would be too obvious. Morris has had his head shaved a couple of times..
May 10th, 2007 at 1:24 am
Philip wants Josh because Josh has something hidden within his body. and he fixed the component so he could get his hand on Josh.. he was not forced to fix the component. He forced the chinese to extract Josh.
Also, the person on the car could be Audrey !
and imagine if Karen had step out, and than bill gets shot. season 7 Karen goes rogue and forms up a team of ex-white house officers that live on LA underground solving misteries? that would be awsome… give her some old faded prison tatoos and a cool haircut and we are set ! or not..
May 11th, 2007 at 5:16 pm
Aaron, where is the graveyard?! We need to lay Milo to rest…
May 12th, 2007 at 10:40 pm
Why can’t a conversation that doesn’t involve wanting to have sex, being jealous, or being made to look like a fool be written this season?
It’s like everyone at CTU is wanting to hump - period.
Anyone else seen the note over at Barry’s Blog about the last two seasons being “mostly unscripted until days before the shoot?” Oy.
One word sentence for this season? Disjointed.
