24 Episode 6: 11:00a.m.–12:00p.m.

This was another slower than normal episode, but still a good one. The problem I had was there
was Jack at the beginning and the end, but nowhere in the middle.
The big stories in this episode were Tom Lennox threatening Karen to resign, and Walid in the detention camp.
Poor Walid, it seems he was sacrificed for nothing. Is that all that Walid’s story was meant to tell us? That sometimes some people just get caught up in the wrong situations because of other people’s choices. I think so. I think that Walid’s story is all but over with. Although, Sandra Palmer will have something to go to the President with now, and as much as I can’t stand her she’s got a point.
Oh also congratulations to the FBI and whoever else is running that detention camp, for running the worst camp EVER! First, you would think that there would be guards on the inside of the gates. Second, really how did someone sneak a phone in? Remember when Walid came in? They specifically said the phrase “cavity search.� That seems like a pretty thorough search to me.
The other story involved Tom Lennox and his plan to move forward with his detention camp plans. He dug up some dirt on Karen Hayes, and forced her to resign. Poor Karen, although she should’ve told the President up front why she was handing in her resignation. As a result of Tom’s racial profiling, Nadia has lost all of her security clearance. I’m not quite sure why she couldn’t tell anyone, or was afraid to tell anyone about it. I didn’t understand that at all.
It seems the British guy that Fayed’s been talking to is actually the McCarthy that Jack is looking
for. After torturing Graem (man I hate that guy) he found out about the business dealings that his Father Phillip (James Cromwell) had with McCarthy. But, when Jack shows up at McCarthy’s office, all he finds is his Dad who’s also looking for McCarthy.
Graem finally shows his true colors when he takes his Dad and Jack hostage with his henchmen. Boy was that a mistake! It’s like James Bond, if you don’t kill him when you can you won’t and he’ll get you back for sure. I’m happy that Jack finally knows that his brother is nothing but a bad guy and needs to be dealt with accordingly. It’s only a matter of time before Jack finds out that Graem was behind the David Palmer hit, and oh BOY is the torture-extravaganza going to be released!
Jack hasn’t killed someone in quite a while, but I’m feeling like next episode is going to be Jack’s coming out party.

One thing I thought rather funny about this episode is that CTU LA was running intel for a detention facility in DC. It makes sense right? Also, what is this detention facility anyway? Isn’t this the type of thing that Hayes and Tom were arguing over?
But in reality I think you’re right, Jack will kill someone next week and it might just be his brother.

I don’t think Jack’s brother is going to be killed off this quickly (the time will come when every single 24 viewer hates him like nothing else, it will be more satisfying that way!) However, before it’s all said and done, I do believe that both Jack’s brother and father are going to die before the season ends…
Then you have Jack taking care of his nephew/son, Josh.

Jack’s dad could use a hair cut. And I don’t really understand the whole Nadia bit either. It’s not like she was hiding her heritage, everyone there knows she speaks Arabic. Whatever, they just needed to keep up the drama at CTU. Speaking of CTU drama, Milo better keep his hands to himself, Nadia could be a master terrorist in disguise! What was he thinking logging her in with his ID? Dumb Milo.

The plot next week will be about the guy McCarthy finds. It’ll be someone in CTU. Notice how they alluded to him many times yet never showed his face.

Good point silence, I agree. There’s always someone on the inside and I don’t think its Nadia, that’d be dumb. Sucks about Karen being forced to resign. I think 24 is just setting us up to really really hate Tom and Graem so much that when they finally do get killed (or taken down by Wayne Palmer himself) we all rejoice and call them geniuses.
I was wondering why they called CTU LA from the DC dentention facility, too, and not the CTU DC office. Maybe just because the bomb went of in LA that office was running the primary search for the terrorists so all the intel from across the nation was going to them. Thats the only logical explaination I came up with.

Wow, talk about a slow episode?!
Where was Jack? I guess Sutherland needed a few days rest from the 24 set.
Nadia, is really a double agent, the best looking girl always gets her way, both with men and on the show. Chloe, will probably have a cat fight with her, when she discovers that she’s been feeding intel to the Terrorists, (you-go-girl!).
Jack has not blown anybody away for a while, he is way overdue, probably the next episode we will have him wack a couple or three, I hope. Will Jack kill his brother? . . . Of course, but probably towards the end of the season (they’ll let it stretch out ’till then).
I’m guessing that Karen just wanted a way out of the White House, so Tom could be seen as this enormous biggot that even the President would notice him. As a matter of fact, she did it so Tom will be able to “make his own bed and sleep in it.” Its an excellent ploy and tactic she is using. (YYes she could have, pleaded with the president, she could have taken Tom’s “skeleton” out of the closet, she could have cried to her husband, but alas, she chose the phsychological way out of it!)
Next show, we’re in for s little surprise!

I’ve got a few theories about next week (as well as the rest of the season). First off, though…this episode definitely was slow, though I did like a couple of the small pieces of detail they had, like the 24 Nextel number (I called it…haha) and the picture of David Palmer in the background during Wayne’s speech.
Just looking at the previews you know Jack’s gonna have to take out 2 guys early on in the next episode. The whole “world of pain” that Jack’s gonna put Graem in…well…I think Jack’s finally found out who turned him into the Chinese…or possibly someone else behind the murder of his wife (maybe someone pulling Nina Meyer’s strings…) Either way, I see Graem going down early and a high body count for next week.
I already see hints of Tony and Michelle in Milo and Nadia, and after everything that’s happened in the last 9+ years since day 1, I’ve got nothing against Nadia, so I say go for it Milo!
Karen’s not out of it, either. She’s going to be using Bill as a way to talk to Wayne without Tom getting int the way.

Last night’s episode was slow. But you have to remember that Jack was imprisoned for 2 years. He has spoken in all that time and like he said, I can’t do this anymore. Yeah, they’ve been slow, but tell me: if you were imprisoned for all that time and tortured, would you be in a hurry to kill someone? They were trying to break him and in some ways they did, but I think that once Jack gets over the shock of his family being involved, he will once again be himself. Big Bad Jack. In fact, in the previews, it looked like Jack was back to torturing his brother. And Graham? What’s up with marrying the woman that used to date your brother? I think Graham has some issues there. Seems like he did it to get back at Jack. He did nothing but provoke Jack and now that Jacks back in the game I think the writers are making it so that he finds his footing again after being held captive for 2 years. Just wait. I think next week will be the turning point and Jack will be back - he can’t trust his family and his wife is dead, his love thinks he’s still captive and his daughter blames him. I just wish last season he had tole Kim (who will no doubt be back): Look, you may not like what I do, but I’ve lost more than you could possibly know. You are my daughter and no matter how strained our relationship is, I will always love you and protect you. Then I would have punched her doctor in the. Next week.

I think this was the first episode of 24 in which I could imagine all the events actually taking place in an hour - very slow indeed. And kind of pointless - where were they going with the Walid/Sandra story? And what’s up with Jack? I know he just got out of a chinese torture prison and a whole host of award shows (not sure which would be worse), but he got taken twice by the same bodyguards in a short space of time. Has he killed anyone since Curtis? At least we didn’t have to suffer whispering Wayne too much - don’t get me wrong, I really liked him before he was President - and he better get up to speed because evil Tom Chene…. I mean Lennox, is coming after him next.

Ok, I just got caught up… iTunes next day service plus I had rehearsals all night last night. I predict Jack and Dear Old Dad are out of (or, better yet, driving) the van by 12:06. I’m starting to think that Nadia is the mole. I didn’t think that, UNTIL Milo stuck his neck out for her. It’s a common theme, over the years for some dummy who thinks he’s “doing the right thing” to stand up and protect the bad guy, don’t you think?

If Nadia’s a mole, I might just have to give up. Seriously, the one openly Muslim person in CTU is the mole that tries to bring things down? Give me a break, 24. I really hope that isn’t the case.
