24 Graveyard

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

Good morning, again. I was going to bring back the Character Kill Count last week (per a comment request) but wouldn’t you know it? That episode didn’t feature a single death! They made up for it this week, so here is the rundown for episode 6:

RIP

peterwingfieldakaemerson

Emerson, Leader of the group that Tony has been working for.
Killed by: Tony
Weapon used: A gun.
Will be missed: Not really.

carlypopeakasamantha

Samantha, Ex-Girlfriend of the First Son
Killed by: Brian the evil SS Agent
Weapon used: A knife
Will be missed: Definitely. I think she had potential.

warrenkoleakabrian

Brian, The Evil SS Agent
Killed by: First Gentleman Henry Taylor
Weapon Used: He knocked Brian over the railing.
Will be missed: Yeah… he was pretty hot.

Litvak
Killed by: Tony
Weapon Used: Gun
Will be missed: Not by me.

Random Airline Passengers
Killed by: Dubaku’s orders
Weapon Used: Another plane.
Will be missed: We never even knew em, so no. I’m guessing Taylor will, though. After the second attack happens, she’ll need all the voters she can get.

TerrorMinion
Killed by: Tony
Weapon Used: A gun
Will be missed: Not a chance.

So, the final count for this episode is 262 people. By comparison, the count was only 9 people total for the first 5 episodes. Also, there were two episodes (10-11AM and 12-1PM) where there was no one killed at all. So, what do you all think? Are you going to miss any of these characters? Be sure to comment and let me know so we can chat about it. Take care and I’ll see you all next time.

Another Shocker!

Friday, December 19th, 2008

Good morning! Yesterday, I mentioned a series of posts about 24’s most shocking moments. My second one is from the show’s second season and involved one infamous phrase: “I’m gonna need a hacksaw”. If you saw that year, you know what I’m talking about!

For those who don’t, let me fill you in. So, Jack Bauer had been part of an undercover operation that led to a few people going to jail. During this season, he has to find a way to get himself back in good with people who know now he isn’t to be trusted. If he doesn’t, they won’t be able to stop the nuclear bomb attack that is supposed to take place that day. You know Jack… where there’s a will, there’s a way and the way he found was eye-opening.

He had Marshall Goren, one of the main witnesses against the leader of the group (who is really only testifying to get out of a big list of charges himself) he needs to trust him, brought into CTU. Everyone in the room is shocked when Jack shoots the guy and then asks for a saw so he can bring the bad guys some… evidence of his new evil ways.

I have never looked at Jack Bauer the same way again. There seems to be nothing he won’t do to get the job done. So what do you all think? Did this shock you? Were you “meh” about it? Post your comments below and let’s talk about it. Take care and I’ll see y’all again on Monday. I leave you with a tribute video made by leew72 on youtube. It’s about Jack and features him during the second season. Enjoy!!

Shocking Moments

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

Hello, again! I thought that while we’re waiting for the new season to start, we ought to look back on some of the better (and most shocking) moments on the show. What better place to start than in the season one finale? If you saw that season, you know what I am talking about: the death of Teri Bauer.

After spending close to 24 hours as a hostage, getting into several fights, a car accident, being raped and having to kill a guy, she was finally safe at CTU. Unfortunately for her, she walked in on Nina making some final plans before escaping. Knowing Teri can seriously mess up her escape plans, Nina decides there is no other option but to kill her. Jack walks in and is devestated to find Teri dead.

For me, this was a moment where the show sent a clear message: things are going to get messy. Not every situation will have a happy ending, and that’s what I like most about the show. It does show that there is a dark side out there and even the good guy’s hands have to get dirty once in a while. It’s something they’ve played with many times since then and it usually works for me. That’s why this is actually one of my favorite moments on the show and I’m glad they didn’t go for the happy-alternate ending that’s included on the Season 1 DVD. So, what do you all think? Was that a good move? What was your reaction the first time you saw that scene? Be sure to share in the comments section below.

Rieko Alert!!

Monday, December 8th, 2008

I’m sure you all remember Reiko Aylesworth as Michelle Dessler on 24. Her brightest moment, I thought, was during season 3. This was when she had to take charge at a hotel that was infected with an air-borne virus, exposing herself to the threat as well. Highlights there include the scene where she was forced to shoot a guest to keep him from escaping and spreading the disease and another scene where she begs for suicide capsules for the guests, who are dying a horrible death from the disease. Her last appearance was during season 5, when she was killed by a car bomb in the first hour.

Well, you might not be able to see her on 24 anymore, but that doesn’t mean she’s not going to be on our TV screens. She recently signed on to appear in at least four episode of Lost on ABC. She’s going to be playing a character named Amy who loves the outdoors. That trait will come in handy there…. (unless she’s going to be in flashbacks before the crash). If you haven’t seen her in anything other than 24, let me give you a little taste of her outside the Michelle role. The clip below is from the series ER and features her as a chaplain at the hospital trying to counsel a patient who has committed murder. He wants her to tell him how to get forgiveness fast because he’s dying and scared of what’s waiting for him. When she doesn’t give him the answer he wants to hear, he gets angry and orders her to leave. Enjoy!

So what do you think? Did she do a good job? Are you looking forward to her stint on Lost? Are you wishing there was some way to get her back at CTU? Post your comments below and I’ll see ya next time with a recap of the 2-hour movie Redemption.

24 Graveyard (Episode 22)

Friday, May 18th, 2007

This was a tough Graveyard to get done. These shootouts you just never know what’s really happening until you have to watch it frame by frame to get all the kills.

Well, No CTU guys got killed. Jack went on a killing spree killing a bunch of Cheng guys.

THE SLIDING KILL AHHHH YEAH!

24 Graveyard (Episode 21)

Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

Poor CTU guards always getting killed like the red shirt guys in Star Trek:

Cheng’s mercenaries were no match for Jack Bauer:

And finally, poor Milo got shot in the head trying to save the woman he so desperately wanted to have relations with:

24 Graveyard (Episode 19)

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

Doyle got himself a terrorist, good job:

The CTU team took care of these two:

Jack added to his kill count with these two stragglers that didn’t get to ride in the stealth hummers:

And finally we will say goodbye to the CTU “Air One” helicopter. I don’t know if the people died that were on board, but I think it’s safe to say that the helicopter is out of commission:

24 Graveyard (Episode 17)

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

Two dead undercover CTU agents (his arm was the best picture I could get of him while dead):

This poor garbage man didn’t even see it coming:

And here is where we have Jack’s warehouse killing spree. Enjoy!:

Goodbye Fayed!:

24 Graveyard (Episode 16)

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

One of Fayed’s terrorist pals meets Jack Bauer’s bullet:

Jack said “Just show me your head,” and that’s what this guy did:

Gredenko took a nice walk along the beach, but his arm was cut off so he bled to death. Spectacular plan Gredenko, you terrorist mastermind you:

24 Graveyard (Episode 15)

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

Jack added another person to his kill count when the drone pilot died:

This was the guy that was going to kill Brady. Yup he deserved exactly what he got (He’s kind of hard to see. Far left.):

Another guy for the CTU team:

Lastly, Jack added the “3rd Hostile inside the car” to his kill count:

24 Graveyard (Episode 14)

Wednesday, March 21st, 2007

This poor guy was a terrorist, but still Jack had no idea who he was and he just gunned him down. I thought that was pretty funny:

Right when this guy turned the corner he was toast:

24 Graveyard (Episode 13)

Thursday, March 15th, 2007

Stupid guy tried to kill Jack Bauer, THE JACK BAUER, with a pocket knife. Yeah, that’s gonna work:

Chalk another one up for Jack:

And another:

All of these are casualties of the CTU team and Rick “Mikey Doyle” Schroder:

Markov is probably dead, he was shot a few times, but you never know they may just keep him alive. But, I’m guessing he’s dead:

This is the MIGHT be dead category. Charles Logan flatlined right at the end of the episode, we’ll see if they can revive him for the next episode.

A ton of people were killed this week, too bad they all weren’t rubbed out by Jack. But, he did add three people to his Death Toll, which now stands at 10. I think Jack’s back!

, , , , ,

24 Graveyard (Episode 12)

Wednesday, March 7th, 2007

It didn’t happen during this episode, but it was confirmed, Assad is no more:

The other person to die this episode was Jack’s Russian Bluetooth buddy that oddly didn’t use his Bluetooth headset when he called Bill:
