Best Line of the Night Award: Awarded to Tony for saying “Now, let’s put that behind us” after disarming a bad guy.
The “Amen” award goes to: Dubaku for saying what we’ve all been thinking when he implied the president was insane.
The Idiot of the Year Award: Is awarded to Emerson for basically admitting to Jack that they manipulated everything to lure Tony over to the terrorist side. If he wasn’t already killed, I’d put money on Jack having a… private conversation with him over that one.
The “Say What” award: Given to the writers for basically expecting us to believe the terrorists were able to, yet again, pretend to be ATC and fly two planes into each other. Considering they have already ordered many planes grounded, I’d say the FBI or someone has been in touch with pilots and would’ve warned them about listening to everyone who gives them directions.

How about Chloe’s “stay-at-home mom” line? It may have been overplayed a little bit in the trailers, but it’s still pretty funny when you actually hear it.
Motobo’s reaction was priceless also

Good call on the “Say What” award. Between that and the fact that the pilots appear to have no collision detection systems onboard or ability to maneuver and evade on their own, there’s a pretty big plot hole

My favorite line was Chloe’s. “I’m a stay at home mom!”

Best award is the Say What award. Once one plane was hit, I’m sure they would have had some kind of code figured out to identify authorized transmissions or given them instructions to stay on course unless given the order to land. Plus, wouldn’t the pilots see each other and pull out in time?

Definitely! Only the blind must be able to work as pilots in 24-land. That’s the only explanation I can think of for a pilot (or the co-pilot) not seeing a plane coming and changing course.
As for your other point, so true! On a related note, I was reading a bit about planes and all and discovered there’s a system called TCAS that alerts pilots to potential crashes and it’s directions are supposed to trump anything ATC says to a pilot. It’s also its own thing, which means it most likely would not be controlled by the same protections that ATC is.

Not sure why my original comment is still awaiting moderation after 2 days when other comments have come available, but anyway.
Jack’s point total should be 223, not 205.

Fixed and my apologies for missing you before.

Where is Renee is your countdown?
She should get some points for coming back to life, but then she should lose some points for just laying there in the dirt. She wasn’t gravely injured by Jack’s shot and couldn’t she have tried to dig her own way out after the kids drove off?
Tony does get the “Best Line of the Night” for that, “Let’s put this behind us” line. He’s quickly become more interesting than Jack and that’s saying something.
The “Soulless Minion” award goes to the guy sitting at the computer with Dubaku and carrying out the computer evil. They must have some great benefits plan there at Dubaku Evil, Inc.
This week’s “Just In Time” award is a split between Bill & Chloe’s rescue of Renee and Henry Taylor’s “I’m getting the feeling back in my hands, etc.”
My question on Henry is what kind of paralytic drug renders you speechless and incapable of voluntary motion but allows you to sit on a couch with you head held upright. Wouldn’t his neck be paralyzed too? Wouldn’t he be sliding down off the couch? I’m just sayin’.

heh… love your awards. Especially the soulless minion one. I’m waiting for him to get into a computer geek-off with Chloe and Janis- now, that would be entertaining.
Re: Renee. I honestly didn’t see her doing anything horrible enough or great enough to deserve points. Hmm… maybe I should take off some for that…
Still, you’ve got a point on her just laying there instead of trying to dig her way out. You know Tony and Jack didn’t bury her too deep.
Re: Henry and the drug he was given- Very true. Then again… this is the same show that expects us to believe pilots can’t see a plane coming at them and the entire technological infastructure of the US is protected by one easilly hacked firewall so I think that’s expecting too much right now.
Re: Tony. You’re so right on that. I’ve always been a Jack girl, but I find myself liking and being interested in Tony’s scenes more and more. I think Carlos Bernard probably deserves a lot of the credit for that because he’s really making the best of every scene he’s got.
