Day 7, 12 PM to 1 PM Recap
Good morning! I’m back and here to give you a recap of the latest episode in case you didn’t get to see it. It opens up with Jack, Tony and the rest of Emerson’s gang at the Prime Minister’s residence, trying to get one of his men to open the safe room. Since the room can only be opened from inside, Emerson has them hack into the video phone system and informs him that the guard will be killed if he and his wife don’t come out in the next minute. Naturally, the guard and the PM refuse. Emerson is just about to kill the guard when a call comes in from the FBI. He and some of the others decide they have to leave now. Jack and Tony convince them that there is time and they can’t leave without their targets. They say they can chase them out with some homemade gas, which is sent into the room through the ventilation system (great security, by the way…) It almost doesn’t work, but the PM’s wife panics and opens the door. They get led out and into a truck.
Renee, meanwhile, has arrived and is watching the group climb into the truck. She had gone ahead to the house despite Moss’ order to come back to the office. It seems that Tanner’s lawyers moved fast and got a complaint filed against her with the Attorney General. She calls Moss back to fill him in on what she’s seeing, but is captured before she can give him a plate number or any other information. She’s led into the truck along with everyone else.
Back at the FBI office, the people from the Attorney General’s office wanna speak with Janis, too. They were told about her stalling the lawyers. Janis tries to act like she was not involved, of course. Before they can take her away to interview her, Moss comes along and insists they need her to handle communications right now. He gives her an assignment and tells the guy to wait his turn. Elsewhere in the office, Sean is apparently messing around with another agent named Erica. When she mentions his wife’s plane getting grounded he gets a kinda smug look and talks about being lucky. He doesn’t seem to be trying too hard to hide what he did, does he? He and Janis later intercept a phone call between Emerson and the others in which he is ordered to get rid of Renee since they know she doesn’t have any other information that can be used against them. Moss makes Sean and Janis work on tracing the call again and continues to blow off the guy with the Attorney General.
There’s not too much to say about the White House. It’s pretty much the same story- President’s being advised to call off the invasion, but she refuses. Not even the information that the PM has been abducted changes her mind. I, meanwhile, continue to be suspicious of the Chief of Staff and Secretary of State. Mr. Taylor is, yet again, getting Brian to help him with the investigation into his son’s death since there is new evidence. Brian agrees and they leave. Henry is surprised when they end up at Samantha’s apartment. Even more surprised when Brian puts on some gloves and reveals he’s a bad guy. Henry’s been poisoned and Samantha is being led there by another corrupt agent. They plan to kill her and make it look like Henry did it before killing himself as well.
Finally, what is one of the creepiest segments, in my opinion. Emerson has directed them all to a construction site and ordered Jack to kill Renee now that they know she hasn’t learned anything dangerous to them. He leads her several feet away and they argue a bit, Renee telling him if he’s going to shoot her he’s going to have to look her in the eyes, because she won’t turn around. He forces her to and mutters something to her about getting her out of this before just barely grazing her with a bullet. She falls over and plays dead while Jack dumps her into a hole. He’s taken by surprise, though, when Emerson orders him and Tony to bury her. The last shot we see is from Renee’s perspective as the dirt covers her eyes and the silent clock ticks. Well, that’s it for this episode. Take care and I’ll see you next time. I leave you with the preview for next week. As usual, it’s thanks to Jonas Hodges Enjoy it!
