Kiefer Talks 24 Movie Details
For all of you that are concerned about how the 24 movie is going to play out, here’s the skinny.
I found an article on National Ledger.
The movie will be a 2 hour representation of a ‘24′ hour day.
Kiefer explains:
“It will be weird because the film will be a two-hour representation of the 24 day, which will really give us an incredible amount of freedom, he says.
I don’t know what to think about this. The whole hour by hour thing is what made the show ground-breaking and original. Take away that, and what do you have? The Sentinel? Please, anything but that!
As of right now I have faith in the 24 team.
But, this could truly make or break season 8. As the movie will be placed between seasons 7 and 8, if people think the movie was awful. Then they’ll be less likely to watch the upcoming season.

That is exactly what I was afraid of. Granted, it could still work but I’m concerned as well. It seems to be a risky move on their part. If the movie bombs I agree it would have a negative effect on the 8th season.
On the flip side they have an opportunity to bring in a whole new set of viewers. If people love the movie some of them are bound to start watching 24.
I’m just holding my breath and hoping for the best…

Yeah Bryan, I am too. I have faith in them. I know Cassar was saying they want to get everyone that works on 24 on the movie. So, everyone knows the show and knows what it’s supposed to be.
Right now I have faith. Pure faith!

Wow, that’d be really cool if they could get everybody from the TV show involved in the movie. That would definitely bring a sigh of relief!

Yeah it would. It’s actually in that same interview with Jon Cassar that I posted a post or 2 ago. Click on the link and go to the interview and read it.

I know this is an old post and no one’s likely to see it, but I felt like leaving a comment anyway.
Well, the thing is, if you like the TV show, then chances are you’ll like the movie. Sure, the whole 24 hours thing is gone, but by the time it comes out, the people going to see the movie are fans of the characters and the action, not the quirky episode format. And really, doesn’t everyone just keep coming back for Jack?

I think that they should make the movie a prequel. Then they can bring some of the popular characters like Nina Myers, Tony Almeida and David Palmer, who are all a lot better then the guys on the show now.
