Larry King Live Transcript from Last Night’s Chat With the 24 Crew
So, if you missed the Larry King show last night you missed ol’ Larry chatting with the 24 cast. Fear not though, because I’ve found the actual transcript of the show. The entire thing, that’s right. Actually they aren’t that hard to find you just have to go to the Larry King website and click on transcripts, but I still feel good bringing this news to all you readers.

One part of the interview I wanted to point out because of Larry King is always unintentionally funny. Here he’s interviewing Rick Schroder about his new role on 24. Or at least that’s what he should be doing. Instead King continues to ask him questions on whether his name is Rick or Ricky:
RICKY SCHRODER, PLAYS C.T.U. OPERATIVE MIKE DOYLE: You know, I was 18 or 19, my agents said, “You know, you should change your name to Rick. It’ll help grow up from a kid to an adult.”
And I’ve learned the last 20 years it takes more than dropping a letter from your name to help you grow up. And so I’m more comfortable being called Ricky. And so…
KING: You’re Ricky again?
SCHRODER: I’m going back to Ricky.
KING: Was it Ricky when you were a kid?
SCHRODER: It is Ricky when I was a kid. And my wife, my mom, everybody calls me Ricky. So I’m going to let that — Rick never felt right. I felt like I was trying to be something I wasn’t.
KING: How did you get this part?
SCHRODER: I came and met with some of the producers about four months ago on a different character for the show. And they said, “You know, Rick — Ricky — or Rick…”
Man sometimes I just wonder how Larry actually got his job, and why he’s so stinking popular. The guy is just a terrible interviewer, but people love him. Anyway, check out the transcript if you want to know what was talked about.

I love how he cuts people off to ask someone else a question. Was it just me or was Kiefer more articulate than the rest of the cast? It might be because he’s had more practice talking about the show, but I was surprised by it. I have a new found respect for him as a person whereas before it was just as an actor.
Also, do you wonder whether he truly believes the show could survive without him or if he just said that to appear humble? And what do you think? Would you still watch if Jack died? I don’t think anyone could replace him, and while I’d continue to watch to at least give it a chance, it wouldn’t be the same. I think a lot of people, especially women, would agree.

Whoever did the transcription was inadvertently hilarious - at least, I hope this typo was inadvertent:
KING: You’re Greek?
MAROPIS: Yes, I’m full-blooded cretin.
