No Post Yesterday–Predictions Today

by Aaron

I apologize for not posting yesterday. I didn’t want to take away from the network wide post about the Virgina Tech shootings and the ability to donate if you wanted to.

Plus regarding 24, there was nothing really to post about. I don’t have to do a Graveyard because no one died.

So in this post I would like to hear everyone’s predictions for the last 6 episodes, what do you think is going to happen?

My Predictions:
For me I think that Jack’s Dad is far from actually being gone, and will reappear sometime in these last few episodes to play a major role.

I think Charles Logan has joined Edgar in 24 heaven and will never be back.

Jack and Doyle will have to team up and work together to save the world from one last threat. I’m betting the Chinese have some sort of thing going on that when they are able to get their hands on that chip they will be able to launch a nuke of their own.

Oh and here’s something very interesting. In the new TV Guide this is how it describes Monday’s episode:

Just wait until the midnight hour. That’s when things start to come crumbling down around CTU’s resident silver fox, Bill Buchanan.

Could it be that finally Bill is going to have a much more major role to play than just the re-capper?

Well, I can’t wait until Monday.

How about you, what are your predictions?

Watching24.com Jolt Energy Contest–Week 3

by Aaron

Hey everyone, welcome back to the Jolt Energy Contest for the 3rd straight week. We had a staggering number of entries this week, 45 to be exact. All the entries were great, but I think I narrowed it down to the 3 I liked best.

Here was the picture from last week:

1st Lucas (and winner of a pack of Jolt Energy Gum): Voiceover: “Accidents happen all the time. Accident forgiveness only at Allstate”

2nd S.a.m.: “Yet another Palmer takes one too many shots of Adrenaline.”

3rd Dusty: Girl standing over him: “Sir, excuse me sir, now may not be the best time to tell you this, but…*whispers* I just saved 15% on my car insurance by switching to Geico.”

Here’s this week’s photo:

I found this photo on the internet. You can tell it’s from this season of 24, but I don’t think it was actually used in the show, but I could be wrong. I just liked it a lot, and thought that there could be some great captions to go along with it.

Good luck everyone!

24 Episode 18–11:00p.m.-12:00a.m.

by Aaron

I think we can all agree that this episode was made for the sole fact of leading us up to the final few episodes of the season.

Even though this episode was sort of a primer for the rest of the season I still really enjoyed it; Chloe working under the radar, Jack being arrested right after he’s saved the world, and the VP still wanting the Presidency.

Let’s first talk about President Wayne. Everything looked great. He was running the country, he wasn’t whispering as much as usual, and he even got everyone out of that horribly lit bunker. Then he has to go and have a cerebral hemorrhage and ruin all of Jack’s plans.

Jack on the other hand cares quite a bit (maybe a little too much) about Audrey. But, everyone that Jack knows and loves either gets killed or leaves him and I’m guessing he doesn’t want that to happen again to Audrey. He must feel completely responsible for her capture because she was out looking for him. So, from there I can see why he needs to do what he’s doing.

One of my favorite parts of the episode was when Jack went up to the two guards who were guarding the nukes and starting yelling at them. If I were that guard I would’ve opened up the gates too.

Doyle is actually becoming a very interesting character. First he’s thanking Jack for securing the bombs. Next he’s holding a gun in Jack’s face when Jack is trying to take the “component” from the nuke. I’m thinking there’s going to be a time during these last few episodes where Doyle has to make a choice of whether to save Jack’s life or to follow orders and I think he’s going to save Jack. It’s just a hunch, but everything seems to be building up to that point. Much like Chase when he had thought Jack had switched sides and joined the drug cartel.

But, now things in the White House are very different. VP Powers Boothe is back in power but Tom still has the tape of him conspiring to commit perjury. I think Tom may use the tape in some kind of power grubbing scheme later on, or keep it just in case. Whatever Tom is planning I’m sure we’ll see the results of it soon.

Overall this was a solid episode to get us ready for the home stretch. Only six episodes left and still anything can happen, and I bet it will.

We’re coming off the best episode of the season, and it can only get better right? Fayed, Gredenko, and the suitcase nukes are out of the picture. Jack has saved the world once again.

But, now the Chinese are back and I think we’re all waiting to see what Jack has in store for them.

I loved last week’s episode. Jack is Jack again, and it would seem that these last 7 episodes will be full of Jack.

We have a new episode tonight, that I’m really excited for. Check out the promo and we’ll discuss it after…

Updating Jack’s Kill Count

by Aaron

Well, after Monday’s episode Jack really made sure that we still knew he was Jack.

Jack added a staggering 7 kills to his kill count, including that of Fayed.

As we all know Jack stormed the warehouse taking out everyone in sight. It was a great scene that will be placed up there with some of the great scenes in 24 history.

Jack’s up to 23 now! With 7 episodes left and the Chinese holding Audrey, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Jack hit 50.

Possible Leak of 24 Season 7 Plot?

by Aaron

According to TVSquad 24 Director Jon Cassar told the Kansas City Star that next season of 24 could very well have Canadian terrorists, more specifically Quebec Separatists.

Cassar was born in Quebec, and stated in his interview:

“We are absolutely evenly employing all the bad guys of all nations. Some told me, because I’m Canadian, they said, ‘Hey, why are you leaving us out? Why can’t we be the bad guys?’ I’m like, ‘Good idea. Quebec separatists could be the terrorists.’

But not everyone’s happy about it. Especially the real Quebec Separatists that think this sort of thing would make them look like gun-toting terrorists, rather than just plain weird.

Personally I don’t know how scary Canadian terrorists could be, but who knows maybe they’ll surprise me.

My nomination for terrorists that they haven’t featured would be an African Warlord hell-bent on terrorizing America. African Warlords are always pretty scary.

24 Episode 17–10:00p.m.-11:00p.m.

by Aaron

Up until the last few minutes, this episode was good but not great. After the last few minutes I want to put it right up there with one of the best episodes this season.

Right when we think that Jack has become a guest star on his own show, this episode brings him back in a huge way.

But, first let’s start off talking about President Wayne, and giving kudos for all the readers that commented on the fact that he was launching a “dud nuke” just to get some information out of “The Ambassador” (I love how they talk about him like he’s the only ambassador in the world). The rouse worked and we were able to find out there was a general in “Fayed’s country” that was calling the shots for Fayed.

Jack on the other hand thought up a brilliant plan of his own. In just minutes they were able to stage a car wreck involving an armored car in order to get Fayed to think he’d been rescued from a terrorist cell.

In the preview we were supposed to think Jack had been shot, I’m glad he wasn’t “just wearing a vest.” Although, I don’t think that networks should mislead viewers in previews like they so often do. (Side note: Was Jack wearing a vest, owas the team just firing blanks? Why in the world, if they were firing blanks, did the guys in the truck give Fayed a gun with real ammo?)

I knew that Fayed would somehow figure out that CTU was behind the plan. That sneaky general gave Fayed some sort of code meaning that he was talking under duress, and Fayed escaped in a garbage truck.

Now is where the episode got back to old 24 roots. The last five minutes is where this episode really shined. A deserted warehouse, Jack Bauer, and a half-dozen terrorists now those are ingredients to success with this show. The last moments of the episode reminded me of the last moments of season 1 where Jack went on his rampage because he thought Kim had died.

Jack is Jack again, which is what this season was in desperate need of. When Jack hung Fayed and said “Say hi to your brother for me,” that was just the icing on the cake. He even sat and watched, and even cracked a bit of a painful smile as he slowly raised the chain until Fayed was dead. Sadistic I know, but it was sorely needed.

Now this season is about to take a drastic turn. The Chinese have Audrey and there is still seven hours left. Could this be the vigilante mission that they have been hinting at ever since Jack found out that Audrey was dead? I sure hope so, there’s nothing better than a good revenge story.

I just have one more thing to say about this episode.

Welcome back Jack. Welcome back.

Watching24.com Jolt Energy Contest–Week 2

by Aaron

What a success this first week of the Jolt Energy Contest has been. Thanks to all of you that entered clever captions to the picture.

I was really surprised at the amount of entries there were in the comments. You guys really went for it and that’s great.

Another thing to remember is that this contest has no limit of how many times you can enter. If sometime during the day the captions pop into your head, just log on and write them in.

Ok, now I know you’re all dying to find out who won this week’s pack of Jolt Energy Gum (remember 2 pieces of gum equal one cup of coffee).

Here was the picture from last week:

Only the 1st place winner recieves gum, but I did put up a 2nd and 3rd place, because I thought they were funny too and thought they should be recognized.

1st place (and the winner of one pack of Jolt Energy Gum): Tom–Jack: Thanks, George, for filling in for Terry during our Lamaze class.

2nd place: Matt–Look how long he’s been out, he must need another piece of jolt gum.

3rd place: Jeff–Oh, I… I just died in your arms tonight.

Didn’t win this time?

Well right below is yet another picture that you can write a clever caption for. This week’s picture comes from season 2. We’re revisiting an old beloved cast member in a time of great peril, but don’t worry he got better.

This week’s picture:

Put your captions in the comments below, and remember to put in your real email address so I can get your address to send you some tasty gum if you win. If you’re one of those that don’t want me seeing their email, feel free to put up all the captions you want, but you won’t get any tasty caffeine gum

Another week, another episode.

Last week it was the “bizarro world” of 24. Every character did things that were totally opposite of what their characters had been doing all season.

Doyle saved Milo from being arrested, Gredenko cut off his own arm then just for fun turned in Fayed to a bunch of rednecks in a bar, Jack (again) was hardly in the episode, and President Wayne launched the nukes because he’s mad on adrenaline and missile envy.

So, what’s going to happen tonight? Check out the preview and we’ll talk about it after…

Updating Jack’s Kill Count

by Aaron

A lot of people that guessed high numbers in the Kill Count Contest have been a little worried. While Jack still isn’t killing as many people as he has in the past, he’s now up to 16 with the 2 people he killed in episode 16.

His numbers are rising pretty fast. Since episode 13 he’s killed no less than 2 people an episode. He will most likely end up in the low 30’s or high 20’s at the rate he’s going.

Remember there’s 500 bucks on the line.
