Premiere, Part 4

by

Good evening, everyone!! As promised, I’m here to give you the last part of the premiere recap. The FBI is trying to find Jack and Tony, following their escape last episode. Renee is especially determined to find them. When the President and Ethan discover this, they let the FBI have it for letting the men get away. They jump right into trying to get themselves off the hook by identifying the sniper from earlier, a man named Alan Tanner. He used to be in special forces and was in a dispute with the government over Gulf War Syndrome. He’s out cold in the hospital, but Renee makes plans to interview him when he wakes up. The president, meanwhile, switches to arguing with Ethan (I sense a trend starting…) over whether or not to call off the troops. She says she can’t just give in to terrorists the first time one asks after running on promises of doing the exact opposite. Ethan disagrees.

Jack and Tony meet with Bill and Chloe, Jack wanting to know how on earth Tony is still alive. Tony says he was given a shot that revived him and spent some time working with this group for real, because he was so angry about what happened to Michelle. Finally, they came up with a plan he knew was going too far and went to Bill for help. That’s when he started working for the good guys again. Later on, he calls David Emerson (the leader of the group) and tells him about Jack and how he helped him escape from the FBI. He says Jack is willing to help in exchange for help in getting out of the country.

Henry, meanwhile, is still reeling from Sarah confessing that his son was, in fact, killed and asks Agent Gesh to take him to meet Sarah in person. Gesh isn’t happy about it, but he relents after Henry promises this will be the last time he asks for something involving this from him. Right after, The President comes in and tells Henry what’s been going on and asks for some advice. He tells her he trusts her to make the right call, no matter what he decision is. Awww…. later on, Sarah provides him with proof of his son’s murder and begs him to leave her out of it from now on since her own life was threatened if she told anyone anything about this.

Renee and Sean are discussing the search for Jack and Tony when Janis comes along and tells Renee that Alan has woken up. Rene wants to go talk to him and wants Janis with her. Especially once she finds out lawyers are on the way. As they leave, Sean’s wife calls, anxious because her plane’s just circling with several others. He lies to her about everything being cool and then snaps at a co-worker in frustration. Later, he impersonates Larry to get his wife’s plane grounded sooner. Yeah, he’s not gonna pay for that one later…

On the way to the terror hide out, Tony fills Jack in on David and the group. Jack isn’t happy to notice that Tony seems to still admire the guy. Tony assures him that he can do what has to be done to stop the group from succeeding. When they arrive at the house, Tony tries to convince David that they need Jack around to help, but David isn’t so sure. He doesn’t really trust him. Jack finally takes a guy hostage and argues that he can get the job done and he’s here because he has nowhere else to go.

The President meets with the Prime Minister and tells him about the threat and how they’re considering backing down for now. He isn’t happy and begs the President to reconsider this, especially since so many people were counting on the support of the US. She promises to do what they can and yells at Ethan for not filling her in on all the details on the Sangala situation.

Bill and Chloe overhear a plot to kidnap the Prime Minister and she gets a little uncomfortable with this all. She thinks they should report what’s going on, but Bill reminds her they have to keep Tony and Jack’s cover and get to Dubaku if they’re ever going to get to the bottom of his full plans.

Meanwhile, Renee and Janis are arriving at the hospital to interview Tanner. Renee asks Janis to stall the lawyers while she talks with Tanner on her own. When he refuses to talk, she resorts to some of Jack’s old methods and Tanner spills everything he knows. She calls Moss to let him know that the terrorists are planning to kidnap the Prime Minister and they plan to try and capture Tony then. Word is passed along to the Prime Minister’s people, who lead him and his wife to safety. The episode ends with a big fight and the Prime Minister and his wife hiding in the building. I leave you with a clip from the premiere event, thanks to upalisevise on youtube. Take care and see you on Sunday!!
