So What’s Happening With the 24 Movie?
It seems over the past few months we have been getting conflicting statements from 24 team members about the possibility of an actual movie.
Lets take a step back for a minute. A few months ago Kiefer kept insisiting that a script was in the works and that the filming for the movie would take place between season 6 and 7. I also heard between seasons 7 and 8.
Also, Jon Cassar director/producer of 24 was quoted comingsoon.net saying:
Nothing is a 100% sure right now but yes, I’m the upfront director for the job [.] our goal is to get the whole crew working on the series involved in this movie. We don’t want to give it to a director who’s never done a single episode of the show. As for the actors, the only one I can confirm is a 100% sure right now is Kiefer (laughs).
All of this is well and good until after reading through the Larry King transcript of the interview with the 24 cast Robert Cochran (Co-Creator) and Larry King discuss the movie:
KING: Robert, would it work as a movie?
COCHRAN: We have been asked that a lot. We have gone down that road. I think it would work as a movie. Sure, I think…
KING: Might you do it?
COCHRAN: We’ll do it one of these days. We will.
KING: Like, at the end of the run?
COCHRAN: More likely towards the end of the run, yes.
It seems that the movie has been put on the backburner for now or hasn’t actually been coming as fast as what was orignally believed.
Personally, I don’t care whether or not the movie is made. I would actually like to not see a movie made from 24, because (as people have said ad nauseum) the ‘real-time’ factor would be lost which is one of the most appealing aspects of the show.

Yea I’m ambivalent about a movie as well.

[...] I think it is pretty widely know that the producers of the TV show 24 are planning on making a movie that will be released between two seasons. I was under the impression it was going to be made after season 6 and it would also be released between season 6 and season 7. Well, apparently this might not be the case.
