Thoughts on 8 PM to 9 PM

by

In case you missed it, I’m here to fill you in on the latest episode and give my thoughts on it. If you are just waiting to see your DVR of it, you might wanna head on over here instead. If not, keep reading….

FBI/Old CTU

jamesWow. They actually killed off Bill Buchanan. I wasn’t really expecting him to be the one to go, but what a send off they gave him (dying a hero)! A silent clock, too. It seems we may not have seen the end of human!Jack, either, based on his reaction to Bill’s death. He seemed genuinely sad and shaken over it.

As for Renee, well, she’s in a whole lot of trouble after she went behind Larry’s back to get approval for Jack to question the traitor again. He actually told her to start packing her stuff and to turn in her badge. It’s funny, though… when he was telling Jack about it, he said she ‘may’ lose her job over it. Guess he’s still conflicted about her. Jack, on the other hand, is easy for him. He can’t stand him and that’s that. I can’t imagine that his opinion is going to change any time soon, either after that interrogation went so wrong. I’m telling you, I think it’s a hint that someone big is involved. Speaking of….

The White House

Ethan is looking even more shady this week. Not only did he lie to the President about what Renee wanted, the traitor ends up dead before Jack can get to him because they’ve been told Jack’s on his way. I guess we’ll see on that one. In other news, we found out that Olivia plays dirty in the political ring and it got her fired from Mommy’s campaign. Given everything going on today, though, President Taylor is willing to start fresh and has Ethan offer Olivia a top job in her administration. We also get to see the first glimpse of what a commentor (and some other sources) meant when she was compared to Sherry Palmer. She accepts the position, but lets Ethan know he failed big time since the corruption happened under his watch and she’s going to find out everything she can about the situation.

The Bad Guys

Not a whole lot to say here, since Juma and his men are dead. In true 24 tradition, the game has now changed players. Basically, Hodges is still waiting for his shipment and working his evil magic from the background, even with the other conspirators getting arrested. He arranged for the frame job on Jack as well. He’s pretty interesting so far. We’ll see how his plot plays out.

Well, that’s all for now. Take care and see y’all tomorrow.
