Today’s the Day! Premiere Day Predictions and Thoughts.

by Aaron

So, today’s the day all us 24 fans have been waiting for. Jack is back from the Chinese, and he’s sure to hit the ground running.

What are everyone’s predictions for the upcoming premiere? I’d like to hear them (just a side note, if you actually downloaded it off the internet or have seen it already, please refrain from introducing any big spoilers in the comments until after the episodes have aired).

It’s hard to say what’s going to happen. Jack is back from being held and tortured in a Chinese prison camp for the past 20 months. What’s his state of mind going to be like? After almost two solid years of being tortured, even Jack might not be up to the tasks that surely lay before him.

I’m sure that Jack will instinctively be able to do what he normally does, but if it comes to torturing someone, is he going to be up to it? Or is he going to go soft? I think that this season we’ll see the most character development out of Jack than we’ve seen in any other season.

One of the great things about 24 is that bad things actually happen. Never are Jack and CTU able to stop everything from happening. I’ve heard rumblings around the internet, from early reviews, hinting about something HUGE happening at the end of the fourth episode. Which I have a feeling will leave us all on the edge of our seats.

I love this quote from Kiefer Sutherland when asked about 24 and what they try to accomplish with it:

“You give us an hour and we’ll surprise the hell out of you.

I expect no less from 24. This season has all the makings of being the best season yet. The main thing I’m excited about is, like I said, seeing how much the character of Jack Bauer has changed over his 2 year stint in prison. Yes, the main focus of 24 is the non-stop intense action and drama, but Jack Bauer is a real character. He’s one of the most memorable TV characters of our time. He has gone through the most excruciating ordeal anyone could ever experience and it’ll be interesting to see how and if he’ll be able to bounce back and be the Jack we all know.

I am torn between wanting him to be the Jack Bauer we know and love and seeing how Kiefer can pull off a change in this character’s demeanor that doesn’t get “resolved” within a few hours. In any case, I’m going crazy waiting for the premiere to begin!

P.S. Any ideas who that woman was in the latest preview? She had dark hair and it went so quickly, but it didn’t look like Audrey to me and Jack seemed to be intimate with her. Hmmm …

I also liked what a reviewer who writes you Yahoo.com said about the new season of 24. This is the quote that was used.

“Just when you thought you knew the formula, knew the players, could possibly predict what might happen next, the storyline bitch-slaps you into an entirely different hemisphere.”

Well stated. I think that each season is better than the next. Season 3 has been one of my favorites thus far. There was so much emotion involved.

I quit trying to predict long ago. 45 mins left and we’ll start finding out what is really going to happen!

I think Jack will be a broken man. It will be interesting to see how he “instinctively” acts now that he has gone through 20 months of torture, isolation, and misery. One thing is for sure, he still knows how to scream someone down and tell them to PUT DOWN YOUR WEAPON>
